- 2008 CoSIDA Academic All-American (Third Team)
Paunic, a native of Novi Sad, Serbia, earned third team CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, posting a 4.0 grade point average in finance. He was named the 2008 Southland Conference Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Year earlier this month. Paunic was twice named a first team Southland Conference All-Academic selection and first team Academic All-District choice. Paunic was very effective on the court in his three seasons with the Lions. As a senior, he earned first team All-SLC honors in singles play for the second time in his career, finishing with a 15-6 record. The 2006 Louisiana Newcomer of the Year, Paunic compiled a 52-9 overall singles record in his career, ranking 14th on the school’s career singles victory list.
