Southeastern Louisiana's Jameson Fisher added another All-America honor to his resume, picking up the recognition from Rawlings and the staff of Perfect Game (www.PerfectGame.org).

The redshirt junior from Zachary, Louisiana, was named to the second team after helping Southeastern to a 40-21 record in 2016, its second-consecutive 40-win season, and the program's first at-large bid to the NCAA postseason.

Fisher led the nation in on-base percentage (.558). He also ranked second in batting average (.424), third in OPS (1.250), eighth in sacrifice flies (8), 11th in both slugging percentage (.716) and walks (54), and 14th in RBIs (66).

His batting average, on-base percentage and walk totals are all school single-season records. Through three seasons, Fisher owns the program's career records in batting average (.375) and on-base percentage (.483). He is also tied with former Lion shortstop Justin Boudreaux for the most sacrifice flies (15) in a career.

Fisher, who was named both the Southland Conference Baseball Player of the Year and Student Athlete of the Year, was a semifinalist for both the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award, two of the nation's most prestigious postseason player awards.

He was also been named an All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball / Louisville Slugger, www.D1Baseball.com, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and is a CoSIDA Academic All-American, won the HERO Sports Fan Choice Award, picked up All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association and signed with the Chicago White Sox organization after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft.

Two Southeastern Louisiana baseball players, Jameson Fisher and Brett Hoffman, were named to the 2015 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American teams by Collegiate Baseball.

Hoffman, who hit .312 and was tied for the team lead in doubles last season, was the lone third baseman selected to the second team and Fisher, who finished the 2014 season 12th nationally in hits, was named to the third team.

Fisher, a junior from Zachary, Louisiana, flirted with a .400 average for most of the season, while handling the bulk of the catching duties. His .389 season average ranked 15th nationally at the Division I level, pounding out 93 hits. He led the team in runs scored with 53 and tied Hoffman for the team lead in doubles. Fisher's .481 on-base percentage ranked 16th nationally.

Southeastern Louisiana catcher Jameson Fisher is one of 32 standout freshmen college baseball players featured on the 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American Team.

The 2013 NCBWA Freshman All-American Team features players from 15 conferences and five conference championship teams. The two All-American squads are also made up of nine conference "Rookie of the Year" winners. In addition, one conference "Pitcher of the Year" and 17 all-conference honorees were named to the team.

Fisher started every game for Southeastern as a freshman, splitting time at catcher and first base as well as spending time as the designated hitter. With the most at bats on the team, he also led the Lions in batting average (.315), runs scored (38) and hits (69).

“Jameson did a fantastic job coming in and not worrying about playing time,” interim head coach Matt Riser said. “He just competed. That helps us get better and win as a team. It's rewarding to see him have that kind of season and then get rewarded for it on the back end.”

A Zachary (La.) HS graduate, Fisher tied for the team lead in triples (2) and home runs (3) while being hit by a pitch a team-high 12 times. His strong play during the Lions' final week of the season earned him a spot on the Southland Conference All-Tournament Team. He was an honorable mention for the all-conference squad.
