Laursen, a  transfer from the University of Oregon, ecame the Lions' second All-American in the javelin after finishing fourth with a throw of 236-1 at the NCAA Championships. He had a personal best of 237-1 in finishing second behind Carter (238-2) at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships in 2006.
