Shallow finished third in the Discus at the NCAA 2011 Indoor Championships at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium on the Texas A&M campus.

Shallow, a native of Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, posted a throw of 69 feet, 6.25 inches (21.19 meters). 

Shallow is a five-time Southland Conference champion, four-time Southland Conference Outstanding Field Performer, the 2010 Southland Outdoor Athlete of the Year and the 2009 Southland Indoor Newcomer of the Year.

In 2010, he was named the South Central Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association after earning All-America honors with a fourth place finish in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He is also the league record holder in the weight throw.
