Moss, a native of Burnaby, British Columbia, earned a spot for Team Canada after winning the Canadian National Championship on June 29, 2012 in Calgary with a throw of 255 feet, 9 inches and achieving the Olympic "A" standard. Once he was officially named to Team Canada.

While at Southeastern, Moss finished 14th at the NCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships June 6, 2007 earning him All-American honors.
