A 2008 third team Academic All-America selection, Lockhart completed her undergraduate studies with a 4.0 in mathematics and received the President’s Medal for Academic Excellence, which is the highest academic honor a Southeastern graduate can receive and is awarded to the students with the highest cumulative grade point average. Lockhart also was successful on the field for the Lady Lions, establishing herself as one of the SLC’s top power hitters as a senior. Lockhart was eighth in the league with eight home runs, while also ranking among the team leaders with a .271 batting average, 28 runs scored, 45 hits, 10 doubles and 29 RBI. Lockhart, who started all 52 games for the Lions, provided Southeastern with its most dramatic win of the season versus Sam Houston State. With the Lady Lions trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Lockhart launched a game-winning two-run home run over the centerfield fence.
