Stanley Galloway was a part of the history and lore of Southeastern athletics for almost 65 years.

As a player in the 1930's, Galloway was considered an outstanding running back and had several long touchdown runs.

He had successful coaching tenures at Donaldsonville High and Bogalusa High, leading the Lumberjacks to the state championship in 1947. He became head coach at Southeastern in 1951, leading the Lions through one of their most successful periods in history compiling an 82-41-5 record and being named conference coach of the year four times.

Galloway continued as head coach through the 1964 season when he resigned to become the first Commissioner of State College athletics in Louisiana.

He was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Writers Hall of Fame as a coach and administrator in 1989.
