Hargis, a native of Meraux, Louisiana, patrolled the outfield for the Lions from 2008-11. At the conclusion of his four years under then-head coach Jay Artigues, Hargis left as the program’s career leader in hits (299), runs (217), triples (18) and games played (232). Hargis also ranks among the school’s career leaders in doubles (54, 2nd), RBI (146, 6th), walks (106, 5th) and hit-by-pitch (34, 5th). A 2010 All-Southland Conference selection, Hargis earned Freshman All-America accolades from Louisville Slugger and Ping! Baseball. Hargis returned to his alma mater following his playing days, as he is the head baseball coach at Holy Cross High School at the time of his induction.
