Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame
Ken Kenelly joins his father Pat Kenelly, who was a player, coach and administrator at Southeastern, as a member of the Hall of Fame. They become the first father and son tandem so enshrined. Kenelly, who played football for the Lions from 1970-73, was a four-year letter winner at defensive end. But it's what he's done for Southeastern following those four years that have made a more significant impact.
Kenelly served as president of the Southeastern Alumni Association and has a moving force in the Red Stick Chapter of the Southeastern Alumni Association . He was instrumental in the establishment of the Coach Pat Kenelly Endowed Professorship in Kinesiology and the Pat Kenelly Endowed Scholarship in Athletics. He also played a key role in the development of the annual Coaches Memorial Golf Scramble with proceeds of over $50,000 generated to benefit athletics scholarships at Southeastern. Kenelly is also a past president and member of the Former Football Players Association. Kenelly was a member of the Lions' 1975 national championship track and field squad. Following his graduation, Kenelly also served as a coach at Southeastern for football, volleyball and golf.
