Kirk Bullinger posted a 15-13 careeer record with a 3.52 ERA but his senior season stands as one of the top performances in Lion baseball history. As a senior, he led the Lions to the first of two NCAA Regional appearances in 1992 after going 10-4 on the season with a then school-record 125 strikeouts and a 3.18 ERA.

Bullinger recorded the last one-hit, complete-game for the Lions when he blanked Florida International, 11-0, in the Trans America Athletic Conference Tournament. He would later toss a complete-game, scattering seven hits, as Southeastern blanked tenth ranked Hawaii, 8-0, in the Lions' first game of the NCAA West Regional in Tucson, Ariz.

Drafted in 1992 by the St. Louis Cardinals, Bullinger is one of four Lions to reach the major leagues, making his debut with Montreal Expos in 1998. He also pitched for six other organizations, including a stint with the Houston Astros.

He was inducted into the New Orleans Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009 as a former member of the New Orleans Zephyrs.
