Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame
Renata Smekalova is the lone women's tennis player in the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame. In her two seasons in Hammond, she posted a 44-3 singles record. She was named the 1994 Southeastern and TAAC Female Athlete of the Year and was also selected to the GTE academic All-American team. Her 22-1 record in 1993 is one of the best in school history and it helped her earn Louisiana Newcomer of the Year honors.
