HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana closes out the home portion of its 2016 season this weekend with a pair of games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field against the University of New Orleans.
The Lions (35-13, 21-3 Southland) host UNO (28-19, 12-12 Southland) in the opening and closing games of a Southland Conference series, Friday at 6 p.m. and again Sunday at 1 p.m. The middle game of the series will be played in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Maestri Field at First NBC Ballpark.
Prior to the Lions' regular season home finale, Southeastern will recognize the senior class of

Gabe Von Rosenberg in a special Senior Day ceremony.
Sunday is also Family Day at Alumni Field, as fans aged 12 and under will able to stand with their favorite Lion for the national anthem and run the bases following the game. In addition, it is a Cane's Challenge contest. If the Lions score four runs or more, fans will be able to take their game ticket or student coupon by the end of the business on Monday to participating Raising Cane's to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.

Southeastern is coming off a three-game sweep of a conference series at Lamar.
Six everyday players are hitting .300 or better for the Lions, including 
Jameson Fisher (.436), 
Drew Avans (.338), 
Carson Crites (.319), 
Webb Bobo (.308), 
Brennan Breaud (.301) and 
Sam Roberson (.300). Fisher also leads the squad with 10 home runs and the conference with 54 RBIs. Southeastern is hitting .296 as a team, with 77 doubles, 19 triples, 42 home runs and 89 stolen bases.
Fisher, the Lions' first baseman, is one of the top offensive threats in the nation, leading college baseball in on-base percentage (.569). The junior from Zachary, Louisiana, ranks third nationally in batting average and eighth in slugging percentage (.731).
Southeastern's pitching staff enters the weekend series with a 2.45 ERA, the second-lowest in the nation, and has fanned 388 batters through 419.1 innings of work. Ranked sixth in hits allowed per nine innings (7.34), opponents are hitting .222 off Lion pitching.
Left-hander 
Kyle Cedotal (5-4, 2.47) draws the starting assignment for Southeastern in the opener. The senior from Denham Springs, Louisiana, will be opposed Friday by junior right-hander Riley Hodge (4-4, 3.94) for the Privateers.
Saturday the Lions will send sophomore right-hander 
Mac Sceroler (9-2, 2.09) to the mound opposite UNO junior lefty Hunter Medine (3-0, 4.46).
Senior lefty 
Domenick Carlini (6-1, 1.81) draws the starting nod for Southeastern in Sunday's series finale. The Privateers have not announced a starting pitcher for the contest.
UNO's pitching staff has compiled a 5.33 ERA, fanning 338 batters in 407 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .286 off Privateer pitching.
Five everyday players are hitting over .300 for UNO, including Jay Robinson (.340), Dakota Dean (.337), Aaron Palmer (.332) and Hezekiah Randolph (.322). The Privateers are tied for the Southland lead in batting average (.304), to go with 68 doubles, 20 triples, 31 home runs and 46 stolen bases.
UNO dropped a 5-2 decision Tuesday at Tulane.
A limited number of Right Field Box Seats are available for the games Friday and Sunday at $15 apiece. General Admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children (ages 3-12). Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.
