Freshman Season (2024):
Competed in 11 meets in his first collegiate season... Ran in five different distances on the track through the year... Made his track & field debut for the Lions at the LSU Purple Tiger indoor meet, running his only 600-meter run of the year, finishing in 1:26.95, as well as the 4x400-meter relay...Only one mile run of the year came at the Samford Open indoor meet, crossing the line in 4:44.09... Best 400-meter time came at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, coming home in 51.09 seconds... Best time in the 1,500-meter run came on the home track at the Strawberry Relays, finishing in 4:04.54... Quickest 800-meter time of the season came at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, stopping the clock in 1:54.55... Competed in the 800-meter run in both the indoor & outdoor SLC Championships... Also competed in the 4x400-meter relay at the indoor championships... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll
Prior to Southeastern:
Prepped at the Gutenbergschule in his native Germany... Ran the 800-meter run in 1:55 during his time in high school.
Personal:
Born January 19, 2005 in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany... Son of Marc & Inga Boerkey... Has three siblings - Pierre, Luis, & Annina... Brother, Luis, is on the track & field team at Loyola Marymount University while other brother, Pierre, is on the track team at Texas Tech... Majors in psychology at SLU.
