Sophomore Season (2024):
Competed in 11 meets for the Lions... Made season debut at LSU Purple Tiger in the 800-Meter Run... Finished lone 400-meter dash of the season in 51.53 seconds at the Louisiana Classic... Lone 600-meter run competition of the season came at the Keyth Talley Invitational, finishing in 1:25.61... Best 800-meter run time of the season came at the LSU Alumni Gold outdoor meet, crossing the line in 1:56.41... Only run in the 3,000-meter run came at the SLC Indoor Championships, finishing in 10:12.19... Was also part of the 4x400-meter relay and a distance medley relay.
Freshman Season (2003):
Competed in three indoor meets in his first collegiate season... Made SLU track & field debut at the Birmingham-Southern Indoor Icebreaker where he ran in his only 800-meter run and the distance medley relay... Finished the 800-meter run in 2:08.09... Only 600-meter run of the season came at the LSU Purple Tiger, finishing in 1:28.95... Lone 400-meter run of the season came at the McNeese Indoor #2 meet, crossing the line in 54.20 seconds... Also ran the 4x400-meter relay at McNeese.
Prior to Southeastern:
Prepped at Catholic High in Baton Rouge... Was a member of the track & field for the Bears where he ran the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, & 4x400-meter relay... Won a regional championship, district championship, & state championship while at Catholic... Was also a member of the photography club & learned to speak fluent Spanish while at Catholic.
Personal:
Born January 12, 2004 in Baton Rouge... Son of Willie Baunchand & Courtney Sanford... Has two younger siblings, Chloe & Zuri... Enjoys watching anime, being with friends, & taking pictures... Biggest sports thrill was watching live when Wayde van Niekerk broke the world record in the 400-meter dash at the Olympics... Most enjoys running the 4x400-meter relay and watching college football... Majors in kinesiology at SLU.
