BILXOI, Miss. – Southeastern Louisiana plays its final midweek game of the season Tuesday, squaring off against No. 15-ranked Southern Miss at 7:05 p.m. in a neutral site contest at MGM Park.
 
Coming off a weekend sweep of Central Arkansas to wrap up Southland Conference play, the Lions (34-16) have won 11 of their last 12 games. Southern Miss (40-12) brings a 10-game winning streak into Tuesday's contest.

Senior right-hander Derrick Mount (1-1, 5.93) gets the starting nod for Southeastern versus Golden Eagle sophomore righty J.C. Keys (2-3, 6.32).

Taylor Schwaner (.337), Drew Avans (.315), Carson Crites (.304), Derrick Mount (.291) and Ryan Byers (.274) lead Southeastern at the plate. Crites and Schwaner are the Southland leaders with 13 home runs. Schwaner ranks fourth nationally with 66 RBIs. Mount is sixth nationally with eight sacrifice flies. Avans ranks ninth nationally with 25 stolen bases.
 
The Lions are hitting .256 as a team, with 82 doubles, 18 triples and 47 home runs. Their 102 stolen bases rank fifth nationally. Southeastern's pitching staff enters the game with a 3.69 ERA, having fanned 356 batters through 446.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .243 off Lion pitching.
 
Matthew Guidry (.369), Mason Irby (.353) and Dylan Burdeaux (.352) lead the Golden Eagles at the plate. Matt Wallner leads the squad with 15 home runs. Burdeaux has driven in a team-high 60 runs and swiped a team-leading 15 bags.
 
Southern Miss is hitting .313 as a team, with 119 doubles, 13 triples, 66 home runs and 66 stolen bases. The Golden Eagle pitching staff enters the game with a 4.13 ERA, having fanned 474 batters through 470.2 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .257 off Southern Miss pitching.
 
Southeastern returns home this weekend to close out the regular season at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field with a three-game series versus Seton Hall.
 
The series opens Thursday with a 6 p.m. contest. Thursday will also feature a Cane's Challenge. If the Lions score four or more runs, fans will be able to redeem their game ticket or student coupon at their local participating Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers by the end of business on Friday for a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.
 
The series continues Friday with a 6 p.m. contest and Military Appreciation Day. All fans presenting a valid service member ID will receive free admission.
 
The regular season wraps ups with a 12 p.m. contest Saturday. Prior to the game, seniors Carson Crites, Jacob Seward, Derrick Mount, Webb Bobo, Ryan Byers and Cliff Hurst will be honored in a special Senior Day ceremony.
 
General Admission tickets for Lion home games are $9 for adults and $6 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.
