2016 (Junior): Preseason All-Southland selection … second-toughest batter to strike out in the nation (avg. one every 26.0 at bats), fanning just nine times … started all 60 games in which he appeared … hit .269 with two doubles and a team-leading four triples … scored 53 runs and drove in another 27 … drew 32 walks and five HBPs for a .365 on-base percentage … led the team in at bats … second on the team and third in the Southland in runs scored … also second in stolen bases (15) … third in hits and walks … turned in 17 multi-hit and five multi-RBI performances … notched a team-leading, 11-game hitting streak (April 23-May 14) … reached base in 14-consecutive games (March 19-April 9) … hit .337 (32-for-95) leading off an inning, .373 (38-for-102) with runners on, .455 (5-for-11) with the bases loaded, and .684 (13-for-19) with runners on third and less than two outs … earned All-Conference and All-Tournament honors from the Southland … named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2015 (Sophomore): Southland Conference Player of the Year appeared in 57 games, starting 54 … hit .350 with five doubles, one triple and 35 RBIs … scored 47 runs, second in the conference to teammate Julian Service … drew 25 walks and 13 HBPs for a .442 on-base percentage … stole 19 bases in 26 attempts … led the team in batting average, on-base percentage, hits (76) and stolen bases … second in runs scored and HBPs … fourth in RBIs … broke Southeastern's hitting streak record by hitting safely in 24 games (3/20 – 5/2), hitting .449 (44-for-98) during that stretch with 23 runs scored and 21 RBIs … hitting streak was part of a 39-game reached base streak (2/28 – 5/6) … led the team with 23 multi-hit games, including a 5-hit performance at Houston Baptist (4/25) to tie the hitting streak record … his eight multi-RBI games were tied for third on the squad … hit .435 (40-for-92) with runners on, .400 (4-for-10) with the bases loaded, .392 (38-for-97) leading off an inning, .415 (27-for-65) with runners in scoring position and .714 (15-for-21) with a runner at third base and less than two outs … two-time Southland hitter of the week.  

2014 (Freshman): Appeared in 61 games, starting 59 … hit .287 with six doubles, one triple and 22 RBIs … scored 40 runs … stole 12 bases in 17 attempts … worked 30 walks and struck out just 17 times … led the team with 11 sacrifice bunts and walks … third on the team in runs scored … fourth in hits and on-base percentage (.390) … hit .390 (32-for-82) leading off an inning, and .846 (11-for-13) with a runner at third base and less than two outs … compiled a 12-game hitting streak (4/25-5/11) and 24-game reached base streak (4/12-5/22) … produced 18 multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games … recorded three-hit performances against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/22-23), Incarnate Word (4/12), No. 2-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette (4/29), Sam Houston State (5/22) and against Central Arkansas (5/24) in Southeastern's 9-4 win in the Southland Conference Tournament championship game … his pair of three-hit games earned him him a spot on the All-Tournament team.

High School: Four-year letterwinner in baseball (center field) and football (wide receiver) at Brother Martin H.S. … senior baseball team captain … district MVP and All-Metro selection … two-time All-State honorable mention … led the Crusaders in batting average (.470), on base percentage (.600), runs (42), hits (47), triples (4), walks (29) as a junior.

Personal: Born Jacob Murphy Seward in New Orleans, La. … son of Jimmy and Jill Seward … father played college baseball at Loyola (N.O.) … has two younger sisters, Jamie and Jaci … enjoys going to  football games … majoring in general studies.
