2016 (Junior): Situational righty pitched in 15 games, all in relief … compiled a 1.88 ERA in 14.1 innings of work … held opponents to a .191 batting average, walking 12 and fanning 11 … did not allow a run in his first seven appearances … finished the season with five-consecutive scoreless appearances … named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Junior College: Compiled a 3-7 record with one save and a 4.40 ERA in 13 games, 11 starts, as a sophomore at Southwest Mississippi CC … fanned 45 batters in 57.1 innings pitched … earned first team All-State honors as a freshman after posting a 3-3 record and 2.22 ERA … fanned 57 batters in 56.2 innings of work and limited opponents to a .208 average.

2012-13: Redshirted as a freshman for both the football team and baseball team. Transferred to Southwest Mississippi CC after fall 2013 semester.

High School: Played both baseball and football at Centreville (Miss.) Academy … as a senior he posted dual-threat numbers of a .391 batting average with 10 home runs and 40 RBIs to go with a 10-2 won-loss record on the mound, fanning 70 batters and compiling a 0.91 ERA … earned MAIS Football Dandy Dozen, All-State and All-Metro honors … named District MVP … member of National Honor Society, Beta Club and FCA.

Personal: Born in McComb, Mississippi … son of Bonnie and Cliff Hurst, Sr. … has a sister, Kaylea, and a brother, Billy … fourth member of his immediate family to attend Southeastern … father played football at Southeastern and Southwest Mississippi CC … cousin Hunter Devall plays baseball at LSU … enjoys hunting, fishing and working on the farm … majoring in general studies.
