TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – With a host of his top performers from a record-breaking indoor season having exhausted their eligibility or being red-shirted, Southeastern Louisiana track and field head coach
Sean Brady is anxious to see how his team responds when it resumes the outdoor season Thursday at the John Mitchell Alabama Relays hosted by the University of Alabama.
"I'm excited about this meet because it is at Alabama and it is a big meet," Brady said. "It will be our first big team outdoor meet and it's an invitational, a qualifiers meet, so not everybody met the standard to get into the competition. So for those who did, our expectations are high. We have the opportunity now to see some of the athletes that were kind of the number two or three on our depth chart have the chance to step up and see if they can respond in a pressure situation."
The competition gets underway Thursday at Sam Bailey Track & Field Stadium at 1 p.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw and the women's javelin. Friday's competition opens at 5 p.m. with both field and track events. The meet wraps up Saturday with the field events starting at noon and the track events at 2 p.m.
The meet will be streamed live on SEC Network + on Friday and Saturday. Live stats, courtesy of Alabama, will be available at
www.LionSports.net.
