JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track & field team will be represented at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as Onyah Favour clinched a spot in the 400-meter dash semifinal on the final day of the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championship East First Round Saturday at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
 
In the first of three heats in the 400-meter dash, Favour finished fourth with a time of 51.94 seconds, just 0.01 seconds off of her first round time from Thursday which broke the SLU school record in the discipline. She would have to wait to see if that time would hold through the two remaining heats, and it would pass her through as she held on to the final at-large spot, qualifying her for the national semifinal at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
 
Esther Nwanze looked to join her at the Outdoor National Championships as she raced in the 400-meter hurdles quarterfinal. Racing in the third and final heat, Nwanze saw going in that the time to beat was 57.20 seconds to earn an at-large if she wasn't in the top-three finishers in the heat. As she crossed the line, she was in fifth-place with a time of 57.78 seconds, ending her season. The final qualifying time ended up being 57.16 seconds which is better than the SLU school record of 57.35 seconds, which Nwanze set Thursday in the first round.
 
Favour will represent Southeastern in the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, which runs June 11-14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on the campus of the University of Oregon. The women's 400-meter dash semifinal, featuring Favour, will take place at 5:41 p.m. PDT/7:41 p.m. CDT on Thurs., June 12. Should she advance to the National Championship race, that will take place at 7:27 p.m. PDT/9:27 p.m. CDT on Sat., June 14.
 
The 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will be televised on ESPN and ESPN+ with live results available through Flash Results.
