HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will close out a four-game road swing on Monday when it travels to Louisiana-Lafayette for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest at the Cajundome.
The game between the Lady Lions (2-6) and the host Ragin' Cajuns (4-3) will be broadcast live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at

Southeastern will be in search of its first road win of the 2016-17 season. SLU is 2-0 at home, but 0-6 on the road in their first season under head coach
Errol Gauff.
The Lady Lions lost their third straight game last Tuesday at Jackson State, falling 83-66 to the host Lady Tigers. JSU outscored SLU, 46-25, over the second and third quarters and pulled away thanks to a 54-34 rebounding advantage.
In the loss to JSU, junior guard
Bre Warren led Southeastern with a career-high 15 points. Warren was joined in double figures by freshman guard
Charliee Dugas, who netted 11 points in the loss.
Heading into Monday's game, junior guard
Taylin Underwood leads the Lady Lions with 15.0 points and 2.4 assists per game. Warren (7.8 ppg), Dugas (6.0 ppg) and freshman wing
Taz Stinson (5.8 ppg) are the other top scorers for Southeastern.
Southeastern is averaging 32.6 rebounds per game, but enters Monday's contest with a minus-16.2 rebounding margin. Stinson is the team's active rebounding leader with 5.0 rebounds per outing.
The Lady Lions have been active on defense, forcing opponents into 19.8 turnovers per game. Warren paces the squad with 13 steals.
Louisiana-Lafayette is coming off a 69-64 home loss to Houston last Wednesday. The Ragin' Cajuns' other losses this season came versus Notre Dame and Southern Miss. UL Lafayette has victories over McNeese, Southeast Missouri, Xavier (N.O.) and Southern-New Orleans to its credit this season.
The Ragin' Cajuns feature an inside-outside attack to represent its top two scorers. Guard Jalyn Gordon leads the team with 19.1 points per game, followed by forward Simone Fields' 16.1 points per outing.
Fields is also the team's top rebounder with 8.4 rebounds per contest. Jasmine Thomas is UL Lafayette's top distributor, as she leads the squad with 3.4 assists per game.
Monday's game will be the 45
th all-time meeting between the two schools. Louisiana-Lafayette has won the last four meetings and holds a 29-15 advantage in the series. The last meeting was a 71-60 Ragin' Cajun victory in Hammond during the 2014-15 season. Southeastern's last win in the series was a 56-52 win in 2010-11.
