HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will return to action on Saturday, hosting Nicholls State at 2 p.m. in the University Center.
In conjunction with the game between the Lady Lions (6-17, 5-6 Southland) and the visiting Colonels (13-10, 8-4 Southland), Southeastern will celebrate Alumni Day and former members of the program will be honored at halftime. Take A Kid to the Game Day, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled for March 1.

Elizabeth Styles is Saturday's Spotlight Player of the Game and the first 100 fans will receive a trading card featuring the Savannah, Ga. native courtesy of the Southeastern PRIDE.
Southeastern will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday. On Thursday, McNeese State closed the game with a 15-3 run to defeat the Lady Lions, 75-61.
In the loss, senior forward
Aja Gibson (15 points, 13 rebounds) and sophomore forward
Nanna Pool (10 points, 13 rebounds) each posted double-doubles. Junior guard
Symone Miller led Southeastern with 16 points, hitting 13-of-16 free throws and helping the Lady Lions top 30 free throw attempts for the fifth straight game. Junior guard
Annessa De La Cruz joined the trio in double figures with 10 points off the bench.
Southeastern is averaging 66.1 points per game and features four players averaging in double figures. Miller leads the team with 14.0 points per game, followed by Gibson (13.0 ppg), Pool (12.4 ppg) and Styles (11.6 ppg). Pool leads the Southland with a 59.5 field goal percentage, while Styles' 4.8 assists per game leads the team.
Pool, who has 10 double-doubles on the season, and Gibson, who has posted five double-doubles of her own, make up the league's top rebounding tandem. Pool leads the team with 10.1 rebounds per game, while Gibson grabs 7.7 boards per outing.
The Lady Lions are allowing 77.6 points and forcing 14.2 turnovers per contest. Gibson leads the team with 1.1 blocked shots per game, while Styles' 1.8 steals per outing paces the squad.
Gibson and Styles both continue to climb Southeastern's career lists. Gibson ranks among the league leaders in scoring (1,163 points, 9
th), rebounding (641 rebounds, 8
th) and blocked shots (66, 7
th), while Styles' 269 assists are ninth in program history.
While Southeastern has arguably the Southland's elite post tandem, Nicholls State has the top backcourt in the league. Sophomore guard Emani White leads the team with 18.7 points per game, followed by junior guard Jenny Nash (10.6 ppg) and senior guard KK Babin (9.7 ppg). Nash also leads the team with 5.8 rebounds per game, while Babin is dishing out 4.2 assists per contest.
Southeastern will be looking to avoid a season sweep by the Colonels, who defeated the Lady Lions, 84-55, in Thibodaux on Jan. 4. Gibson posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, while Nash countered with a double-double of her own with 18 points and 10 boards, leading four Colonels in double figures.
