Senior Bethany Burst is the leading Lady Lion returning runner
LAKE CHARLES, La. — The Southeastern Louisiana men's and women's cross country teams open the 2012 season Tuesday at the MSU Cross Country 6K Relay. The meet begins at 5 p.m. at the Enos Darbonne Complex.

Originally scheduled for this past Friday, Southeastern will compete against host McNeese State as well as Louisiana-Monroe, Nicholls State and New Orleans in a paired, relay-style race.

Junior Joseph LeGrange leads the way on the men's side. During the 2011 season he topped the Lion results in every race. Also returning for the men include Paul Arthur, Jesse McDavitt, Matt Mouton and Tyler Waggenspack.

Leading the way for the Lady Lions is Bethany Burst. The senior from Metairie led the way for Southeastern at three events during the 2011 season, including the Southland Championships.

Joining Burst are returners Jennifer Ernst, Emily McAfee, Katie Neil and Lindsey Toups.
