HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Southland Conference Cross Country Championships Friday on the campus of Northwestern State University.
The women's 6K race opens the day's action at 8:30 a.m. The men's field will cover an 8K course starting at 9:30 a.m.  
The meet will be televised on ESPN+ and live scoring, provided by the Southland Conference, will be accessible via the cross country schedule page at 
www.LionSports.net.
On the women's side, 
Ava Pitarro leads the Lady Lions, as the Walker, Louisiana native has been the team's top finisher in all four preconference meets this fall. Pitarro, Nikola Jimmerova, 
JoAnna Cornette, 
Mya Parker and 
Laney Gardner will represent SLU at Friday's league meet.
Tanner Salsman has been the Lions' top performer at three of four meets this fall. The Harvey, Louisiana native will be joined by 
Matthew Berthelot, 
D'Juan Joseph, 
Matthew Norman and 
Landen Schillage.
Following the conference meet, the NCAA South Central Region Championships is set for Nov. 15 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
