McVaney, who pitched the final 2.2 innings to record his second save of the year, gave the Bobcats an insurance run as he led off the eighth inning with an opposite-field triple and scored on Morgan Mickan's sacrifice fly.

Joseph Dvorsky (2-0), the third of four pitchers used by Texas State, earned the win after allowing two hits in 1.1 innings. Texas State starter Colton Turner pitched four innings and gave up four hits and three runs before being relieved by Fielding Pittman in the fifth.
