Southeastern will be facing a Louisiana-Lafayette team that has won its last two games and will also be coming off a lengthy layoff. The Ragin' Cajuns last game was a 60-49 win over Southern on Dec. 3.
In the win, Louisiana-Lafayette rallied late to pull away from Southern. Senior guard Krystal Motley fueled the Ragin' Cajun attack with 19 points. Senior center Kemi Rotibi finished just short of a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Michelle Brunker dished out a game-high five assists, while junior forward Josie West had a game-high five steals.

Southeastern leads the all-time series, 29-12, but will be looking to avoid a season sweep by the Ragin' Cajuns, who defeated the Lady Lions, 69-57, in Hammond on Nov. 29. In that loss, Gibson (17 points) and Jenkins (10 points) led Southeastern offensively, while Simmons and Holder pulled down nine rebounds apiece. Louisiana-Lafayette countered with a career-high 27 points from Motley. Rotibi had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with six blocked shots.
Following Sunday's contest, Southeastern will close out the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule when it hosts the Christmas Classic on Friday and Saturday in the University Center. The Lady Lions open the tournament with a 7 p.m. contest versus Alcorn State on Friday and host Florida A&M on Saturday at 4 p.m.
