Final Standings

CHOUDRANT, La. –
Lance Yates shot an even par 72 for the Southeastern Louisiana golf team in the final round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate Tournament Tuesday at Squire Creek Country Club.

Yates finished the final round with three birdies and three bogeys. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was -2 through 16 holes but bogeyed the last two holes. The freshman shot +5 for the tournament to finish tied for 32nd.

Kris Kerr had a solid day for the Lions. The Loranger, Louisiana product shot 74 (+2) for the final round recording 16 pars and just two bogeys. The junior opened the round with 10 straight pars before a bogey on the 11th and 16th hole.

SLU's Logan Kuehn shot 75 (+3) in the final round and finished one shot behind Yates for the tourney (+6). The junior was even par through the first 14 holes but bogeyed three of the last four.

"The team collectively had the same problem," said SLU golf head coach Jake Narro. "All of our guys were heading to pretty good rounds but had a tough last few holes and weren't able to finish the round off. That's where we just have to get mentally tougher. We've got a lot of work to do."

Georgia took home the team title finishing -17 for the tournament while Texas State finished runner up at -11. UGA's Davis Thomson won the individual title shooting -7.

Southeastern will have an 18-day layoff before returning to the course Saturday, Oct. 5 at the David Tom Invitational in Baton Rouge hosted by LSU.
