HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team's fourth leg in the season-opening five-game road trip send the Lady Lions to Baton Rouge to face in-state foe LSU at 6:30 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The game between the Lady Lions (0-3) and the host Tigers (3-1) will air live on SEC Network+. Live stats, provided by LSU, will also be accessible on the women's basketball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Southeastern has suffered narrow losses to Houston, Southern Miss and UL Lafayette away from home to open the 2019-20 season. In their most recent loss, the Lady Lions fell at UL Lafayette, 60-50, on Sunday.

A six-minute stretch during the third and fourth quarters saw the Ragin' Cajuns outscore SLU, 13-0, to take control of the contest. The game-changing run, as well as a 36-5 free-throw disparity, was too much for the Lady Lions to overcome in a game that they led for the majority.

Jyar Francis led the Lady Lions with 15 points off the bench in Sunday's loss. Caitlyn Williams flirted with a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds, while Alexius Horne paced SLU with five assists and three steals.

The Lady Lions are averaging 56.3 points per game. Francis paces the team with 14.0 points per game and is followed by Celica Sterling (12.3 ppg), Horne (9.0 ppg), Williams (6.5 ppg), Morgan Carrier (5.0 ppg), Aminat Jubril (5.0 ppg) and Charliee Dugas (5.0 ppg). Horne is also the top distributor with 3.7 assists per outing.

Though Southeastern's rebounding margin is minus-6.3 heading into Wednesday's contest, the duo of Williams (7.0 rpg) and Jubril (6.3 rpg) has been effective on the glass. Opponents are averaging 66.7 points and 19.3 turnovers per game versus SLU with Horne's 2.0 steals per contest pacing the Southeastern defensive efforts.

LSU opened the season with an 83-49 victory over UNO, before suffering a 70-62 loss to Florida State. The Tigers bounced back with road wins over Arkansas-Little Rock (65-50) and Tulane (59-54).

Khayla Pointer (17.5 ppg), Faustine Aifuwa (13.8 ppg) and Ayana Mitchell (11.0 ppg) lead a Tiger squad that is averaging 67.3 points per game. Pointer also leads the team with 4.0 assists per game.

LSU carries a plus-6.0 rebounding margin into the meeting with the Lady Lions. Mitchell is tops on the glass with 8.8 rebounds per game. Pointer leads LSU with 2.3 steals per game, as opponents are averaging 55.8 points and 18.8 turnovers per game versus LSU this season.

Wednesday's game will be the 48th meeting between the two in-state foes with LSU holding a 35-12 advantage in the all-time series. Last Dec. 27 in Baton Rouge, the Tigers defeated SLU, 72-52.
