HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana continues a five-game stretch against ranked opponents this weekend, hosting No. 25-ranked UConn in a three-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday between the Lions (4-1) and UConn (2-1). Sunday's 12 p.m. first pitch is an hour earlier than normal to accommodate the Huskies' travel plans.
Friday's series opener and Sunday's series finale can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 FM, and worldwide online or through the TuneIn Radio app (search for KSLU). Fans can keep up with the entire series through live statistics or by following @SLUathletics on Twitter.

Friday at 6 p.m., the Lions will send senior right-hander
Josh Green (1-0, 3.60) to the mound opposite UConn junior left-hander Tim Cate (0-1, 6.35). One of the top pro prospects in the Southland Conference according to both Baseball America and D1Baseball, Green opposes one of the top lefty pro prospects in the nation.

Southeastern picked up a pair of wins this past week, defeating Alcorn State, 7-1, and shutting down No. 20-ranked UL Lafayette, 5-2.

As a team, the Lions are hitting .314, with six doubles, two triples and three home runs. Their 25 stolen bases lead the nation. Southeastern's pitching staff has compiled a 2.80 ERA, fanning 56 batters through 45 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .229 off Lion pitching.
UConn defeated Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech this past weekend after dropping their season opener at Kennesaw State.
Chris Winkel (.555), Christian Fedko (.500), Troy Stefanski (.417) and Connor Moriarty (.400) lead UConn at the plate. Isaac Feldstein's two home runs and four RBI are team highs.
The Huskies are hitting .325, with eight doubles, five home runs and two stolen bases. UConn's pitching staff has combined for a 4.00 ERA, fanning 29 batters in 27 innings. Opponents are hitting .214 off Huskie pitchers.
Southeastern wraps up its season-opening, nine-game homestand Wednesday at 6 p.m., hosting No. 15-ranked LSU in a sold-out game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
