2017 (Junior): Appeared in 44 games, starting 36 … hit .198 with two doubles and one home run … scored 12 runs and 21 RBI … stole one base (two attempts) … drew 17 walks and four HBP, striking out 33 times … recorded a .238 slugging percentage and a .313 on-base percentage … laid down six sac bunts … first home run as a Lion was a grand slam against South Alabama (4/4) … produced four multi-hit performances … drove in multiple runs on six occasions … reached base in 10-consecutive games (4/30 – 5/24) … named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2016 (Sophomore): Played in 55 games at Heartland CC, starting 51 … hit .343 with 15 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 41 RBIs … walk 18 times and hit by another six pitches for a .420 on-base percentage … stole nine bases in 11 attempts … threw out 25 percent of would-be base stealers and picked off three runners … pitching staff compiled a 2.94 ERA and limited opponents to a .211 batting average … helped lead Heartland to a 43-15 record (25-7 in conference) and an appearance in the Region 24 Tournament.

2015 (Freshman): Played in 55 games at Heartland CC, starting 52 … hit .309 with 18 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 43 RBIs … led team in doubles and was second in RBIs … walked 20 times and was hit by another four pitches for a .386 on-base percentage … stole 10 bases and was caught just once … pitching staff compiled a 2.93 ERA and limited opponents to a .238 batting average … helped lead Heartland to a 46-13 record (27-8 in conference) and an appearance in the Region 24 Tournament.

High School: Drafted in the 38th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Chicago Cubs … Earned three letters in baseball and a pair in basketball at Eastlake HS in El Paso, Texas … earned All-District honors in both sports.

Personal: Born in El Paso, Texas … son of Mark and Yvonne Wasinger … has an older sister, Bliss … father played college baseball at Old Dominion and was drafted in the third round of the 1982 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres, spending time at the Major League level with the Padres and San Francisco Giants … enjoys playing video games … majoring in general studies.
