2018 [JUNIOR]: Appeared in 58 games, starting 55 … produced a .249 / .409 / .357 slash line of batting average / slugging percentage / on-base percentage … 48-for-193 at the plate with 10 doubles and seven home runs ... second on the team in home runs … scored 31 runs and drove in team-high 45 … drew 24 walks, hit by 10 pitches and struck out 37 times … produced three sac flies … stole two bases in five attempts … turned in 10 multi-hit performances … drove in multiple runs 11 times, including five at McNeese (March 31) … 2-for-3 as a pinch hitter, including a pinch-hit home run at No. 14-ranked LSU (March 6) … played summer ball for the Port Angeles (Wash.) Lefties of the West Coast League along with Lion teammates Trey Morgan and Evan Pace … the three Southeastern players helped save the life of a Canadian woman, pulling her from a burning car … member of the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2017 [SOPHOMORE]: Played in 50 games at Hinds CC, helping lead the Eagles to the JUCO World Series … earned All-State (MACJC) honors … hit .350 with 12 doubles, two triples and six home runs, scoring 44 runs and driving in another 43 … walked (30) more than he struck out (21) … stole five bases … led team in home runs … finished second in batting average, doubles, RBI and walks … produced 14 multi-hit games, including four three-hit performances in a five-game span against Holmes CC, East Central CC and East Mississippi CC.
 
2016 [FRESHMAN]: Played in 22 games, starting 10, at ULM … hit .250 with five doubles and one home run, scoring five runs and driving in another six … produced a pair of multi-hit games, including a 2-for-5 performance with a pair of doubles against McNeese … singled in his first collegiate plate appearance off current Lion teammate Josh Green as a pinch hitter in Southeastern’s 8-2 win over the Warhawks (Feb. 20).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at St. Paul's for head coach Mick Nunez ... was a three-time All-District selection, including a pair of first team honors ... team leader in hitting as a senior, posting a .435 batting average with 18 doubles, two home runs and 53 RBI.
 
PERSONAL: Born Kyle Michael Schimpf in Metairie, Louisiana ... son of Craig and Pamela Schimpf ... has two older brothers, Kevin and Ryan ... brother, Ryan, played collegiate baseball at LSU (2007-09) and was drafted in the fifth round by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft -- currently in the San Diego Padres organization ... hobbies include baseball, traveling and working out … majoring in sport administration and management.
