HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana softball team will open a five-game road swing with a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Alcorn State.

Kalyn Watts hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth to give the Lady Lions the lead. Freshman
Tanner Wright tossed 3.1 innings of shutout relief to secure the 5-2 victory.
Southeastern heads into Tuesday's action with a .246 team batting average. Junior outfielder
Kinsey Nichols leads the team with a .375 batting average, followed by junior catcher

Gibson and Watts share the team lead with two home runs each. Gibson's 16 RBI are also good for team-high honors.
SLU also leads the Southland Conference with 75 stolen bases through the season's first 25 games. Ramon leads the league with 22 steals, followed closely by junior outfielder
Maddie Edmonston, who has 21 steals in her debut Southeastern campaign. Edmonston and Ramon also rank atop the roster with 19 and 17 runs scored, respectively.
The dominant pitching performance versus the Islanders lowered the Lady Lions' team earned run average of 3.83. Hill (5-5, 3.27 ERA) and Hayes (4-5, 2.82 ERA) have shared the majority of the work in the circle, while Wright (2-1, 4.97 ERA), freshman

The Lady Lions will be facing an Alcorn lineup that has a .304 team batting average. Jessica Crum is the top hitter for the Lady Braves, leading the team with a .483 batting average, six home runs and 28 RBI.
Alcorn State enters Tuesday's games with a 6.23 staff ERA. Madi Creed (2-4, 5.01 ERA), Robin Harrison (2-4, 4.74 ERA), Jazmin Castillo (2-4, 6.67 ERA) and Ambria Dorsey (0-5, 10.50 ERA, 1 save) have all seen significant time in the circle for ASU.
