SLU is coming off a single-season school-record 50 victories and is one of eight Division I schools to win 40 or more games in each of the past four seasons. The Lady Lions advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season, defeating No. 10 national seed LSU twice to advance to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional final.
 
Southeastern head coach Rick Fremin's squad returns eight positional starters and the top two pitchers in terms of wins and all four first team All-Southland performers from 2025. A talented group of newcomers will be buoyed by the return of 2024 SLC Hitter of the Year Ka'Lyn Watson and first team All-SLC pitcher Cera Blanchard for their final year of eligibility.
 
Southeastern will open the 2026 season in Clearwater, Fla., competing in the NFCA Leadoff Classic Feb. 5-8. It will be one of three weekend nonconference tournaments on the slate for SLU, as the Lady Lions will head to the Mardi Gras Mambo (Feb. 13-15) in Youngsville, La. and a tournament at Central Arkansas Feb. 20-21.
 
The nonconference schedule is highlighted by a Feb. 25 contest at reigning national champion Texas. SLU will also travel to Memphis (Feb. 19), UTSA (Feb. 26), UT Arlington (March 5), ULM (March 24) and Southern Miss (April 8) for nonconference single-games, as well as Texas State (Feb. 27-28) for a three-game series.
 
Louisiana Tech (Feb. 11), Southern Miss (March 11), Jackson State (March 17) and Alcorn State (April 21) will visit for nonconference games at North Oak Park.
 
Southeastern opens Southland Conference play at East Texas A&M with a three-game series March 6-7. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (March 27-28), McNeese (April 2-3), Stephen F. Austin (April 14-15) and Nicholls (April 17-28) will also host Lady Lions for a three-game league set.
 
HCU (March 13-14) is one of four Southland Conference teams heading to Hammond for three-game sets this spring. Northwestern State (March 20-21), Lamar (April 10-11) and UIW (April 24-25).
 
The top eight teams in the league standings will advance to the Southland Conference Tournament, which opens with bracket play at the top two seeds April 30 – May 3. The two bracket play winners will meet in the best-of-three championship series, hosted by the top remaining seed May 7-9.
 
Southeastern will open its eight-game preseason fall exhibition schedule versus Pensacola State (Sept. 28). LSU Eunice (Oct. 1), Northwest Mississippi CC (Oct. 3), Coastal Alabama CC (Oct. 8), Northwest Florida State (Oct. 15), LSU Alexandria (Oct. 17), Copiah-Lincoln CC (Oct. 22) and Dillard (Oct. 24) will also visit for 10-inning exhibitions at North Oak Park this fall.
