HAMMOND, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team moved to 3-0 this fall with a 14-1 win over Northwest Mississippi Community College in a 10-inning exhibition Thursday night at North Oak Park.
 
Southeastern collected 16 hits in the victory. Shelby Morris led off the game with an inside-the-park home run, as she, Shenita Tucker, Brilee Ford, Katherine Thiessen and Lily Garcia each had two hits.
 
Tucker and Ford led the Lady Lions with three RBI apiece. Kailey Dixon scored a game-high three runs for SLU.
 
All eight Southeastern pitchers – Thiessen, Hallie Burns, Celia Lamkin, Macie LaRue, Haley Crawford, Tyler Oubre, Cera Blanchard and Bre Clark – combined to hold the visiting Rangers to four hits and did not allow an earned run. Burns, Crawford and Thiessen each struck out two.
 
SLU will continue its fall exhibition schedule with a 10-inning exhibition versus Coastal Alabama Community College next Wednesday at 5 p.m. at North Oak Park.
