12/18/2017 10:34:00 AM

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will play their final non-conference road game on Tuesday, when it travels to Auburn for a 6 p.m. contest at Auburn Arena.

The game between the Lady Lions (1-8) and the host Tigers (7-3) will air on SEC Network+. Links to live video and live stats, provided by the hosts, will be accessible on the women's basketball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

SLU will be looking to bounce back from Wednesday's 68-56 home loss to UL Lafayette. Despite committing a season-low nine turnovers and netting 11 three-point field goals, the Lady Lions could not overcome the foul discrepancy, as SLU committed 28 fouls to just 14 for the Ragin' Cajuns. UL Lafayette netted 22-of-30 free throws, while the Lady Lions were just 7-for-17, accounting for the difference in the contest.

Senior guard Taylin Underwood led SLU with a game-high 20 points and was joined in double figures by junior forward Jyar Francis, who pitched in with 12 points off the bench. Sophomore guard Tyler Morrison led the Lady Lions with four assists, while she, Francis and freshman forward Caitlyn Williams had five rebounds apiece.

Underwood is currently third in the Southland with a team-high 17.7 points per game. The Lady Lions are also second in the league with 8.3 three-point field goals per game behind Underwood's league-best 3.3 treys per outing.

The Livingston, Louisiana native is the school's career leader and ranks ninth all-time among Southland Conference players with 201 three-pointers as a Lady Lion. Her 1,200 career points are also good for 11th on the program's career list.

Underwood and Caitlyn Williams (9.2 ppg) are the top scorers for Southeastern. Caitlyn Williams also is third in the Southland with 7.4 rebounds per game.

The Lady Lions are forcing 19.2 turnovers and averaging 8.6 steals per contest. Morrison is eighth in the Southland with 2.0 steals per game.

Auburn comes into Tuesday's contest on a four-game winning streak. The Tigers used a 30-8 fourth quarter to extend their hot stretch in a 65-47 win over Southern on Dec. 9 in their last outing.

Junior guard Janiah McKay leads Auburn with 15.6 points per game. She is joined in double figures by freshman forward Unique Thompson (13.1 ppg) and sophomore guard Daisa Alexander (12.8 ppg).

Thompson is nearly averaging a double-double with a team-best 9.5 boards per contest. McKay is the Tigers' top playmaker, leading the squad with 5.2 assists and 2.9 steals per game.

Auburn has won all three previous meetings between the two schools. The two teams last met in 2015-16 with the Lady Tigers defeating SLU, 80-68, in Hammond despite a game-high 26 points from Underwood.

Southeastern will close out non-conference play on Thursday, hosting Alabama A&M at 2 p.m. in the University Center. The game can be heard live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the TuneIn Radio app. LionVision subscribers will be able to access a live video stream at www.LionSports.net/watch.
