King, Frazier Join Multiple All-America Club

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Sophomore pole vaulter Devin King and senior hammer thrower Jermisha Frazier joined a select group of Southeastern Louisiana student-athletes as the All-America honorees for the 2016 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season were announced Monday afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Student-athletes earned first-team USTFCCCA All-America honors by virtue of finishing among the top eight in their events, including as a member of a relay, at this past weekend's NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Second-team All-America honors go to those who finish ninth through 16th and honorable mention is 17th through 24th.

King became the eighth two-time All-American in Southeastern track history after being named to the first team following a third-place finish in the pole vault at the National Championships. King, from Kentwood, Louisiana, was also a first-team selection following a third-place finish at the Indoor Championships in March.

Frazier became the first two-time All-American in Lady Lion history, receiving second team honors after finishing 14th in the hammer at the NCAAs. The Kenner, Louisiana native earned honorable mention recognition with a 17th-place finish in the hammer during the 2015 outdoor season.

King and Frazier pushed the number of Lion All-Americans to 44. Senior Alex Young was a first-team selection in the weight throw and junior Steven Barze made second team in the long jump in the indoor season.

National champion Florida landed the most first-team honors out of all the men's teams with 16, followed by LSU with 14, Arkansas with 11 and Texas A&M with 10. Florida also led the women with 15 selections, followed by Southern Cal and LSU with 14 and national champion Arkansas with 13.

Two athletes at the NCAA meet captured four All-America honors: Arkansas' Jarrion Lawson and Southern Cal's Deanna Hill.
