HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana will look to avenge an earlier loss to McNeese State when the Lady Lions host the Cowgirls Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the University Center.
   The game between the Lady Lions (3-18, 2-8) and Cowgirls (15-8, 7-4) will be broadcast on KSLU-FM (90.9). Live stats and streaming video will be available at www.LionSports.net.
   Wednesday will be Faculty Appreciation Night, as all Southeastern faculty will receive two free tickets to the contest. Wednesday will also be a Cane's Challenge Night. If Southeastern tops 50 points, fans will receive a free combo with the purchase of another or equal or greater value by the close of business on Thursday at participating Raising Cane's.

KaeLynn Boyd will be the PRIDE Spotlight Player of the Game. Trading cards featuring the senior guard from Boutte, Louisiana will be distributed to the first 100 fans courtesy of PRIDE.
   Southeastern will try to avoid a second seven-game losing streak in 2015-16. One of the losses was a 96-79 defeat to McNeese in Lake Charles on Jan. 27. Senior forward

Chey Stewart 10 to lead Southeastern which held an eight-point second quarter lead and led 41-37 at the half.
   But McNeese State opened the third quarter on a 19-9 run and shot 81.3 percent in the period to take a 70-60 lead. Senior guard Jayln Johnson poured in a game-high 31 points to lead four Cowgirls in double figures. Senior guard Allison Baggett had 22 points while junior guard Amber Donnes and sophomore forward Frederica Haywood added 15 apiece.
   McNeese has now won four straight and 12 of the last 13 against the Lady Lions to take a 33-32 series lead. Southeastern is 19-13 at home against the Cowgirls.
   Southeastern is coming off an 88-72 decision to Abilene Christian on Saturday. Pool had her eighth double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds while senior guard
Peaches Anderson tied a career-high with 20 points.
   Pool is 10th in the Southland with 14.3 points per game while ranking third in field goal percentage (.502) and fourth in both rebounding (8.2 ppg) and blocked shots (1.3 bpg). Erica Hernandez is 10th in 3-point field goal percentage (.365). The Lady Lions are eighth in the league with 63.0 points per game while allowing 82.0.

   McNeese State, meanwhile, had a four-game winning streak snapped with an 85-81 loss at Nicholls on Saturday. Sophomore guard Keara Hudnall had a career-high 24 points as the Cowgirls held a 73-61 lead with 6:34 remaining. But Nicholls out-scored McNeese 24-8 down the stretch.
   Baggett and junior guard Victoria Rachal finished with 22 and 14 points, respectively, for McNeese.
   Johnson, who had 31 points in the earlier meeting with Southeastern to earn Southland Player of the Week honors, is fifth in the league with 15 points per game. She also leads the league with 5.3 assists per game and is second in assist/turnover ratio (2.0) and free throw percentage (.913).
   Baggett is 13th in scoring (13.8 ppg) while Haywood is third in rebounding (8.3 rpg). Donnes, a Hammond native and former St. Thomas Aquinas High star, is fifth in field goal percentage (.474) and fourth in 3-point percentage while averaging 10.2 points per game. Also expected to start for McNeese is sophomore forward Jasmyn Carswell (5.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 15 blocks).
