COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Senior Harry Wiggins and sophomore Clarissa Smith led Southeastern Louisiana at the NCAA Division I South Central Region Cross Country Championships Friday at the Dale Watts Course on the campus of Texas A&M.
 
Wiggins came in 100th in the men's 10k in 32:58.5 while Smith completed the women's 6k in 23:25.6 for 116th place.
 
The Southeastern men finished 24th with 697 points. Eighth-ranked Arkansas completed the sweep of the team titles by defeating Texas, 51-69.
 
The Lady Lions came in 19th with 588 points. No. 3 Arkansas took first with 40 points, followed by Texas with 105.
 
The top two teams and the first four finishers not associated with the qualifying teams will advance to the NCAA Championships Nov. 21 in Louisville, Ky.
 
Junior Stephen Cassingham was 139th in 34:15.9 for Southeastern. Freshman Trevor Johnson took 155th (35:59.2) and was followed by freshman Salvatore Grizzaffi (160th, 36:53.) and sophomore Michael Perez (162nd, 38:27.2).
 
Brian Barraza of Houston captured the title in 30:07.3.
 
Smith was followed by junior Jenna Hildebrand (127th, 24:22.3), sophomore Haley Gregoire (131st, 24:40.2) and freshmen Amber Ferguson (133rd, 26:12.0) and Samantha Niemeck (135th, 29:29.2).
 
Arkansas' Dominique Scott won in 19:35.3.
