The Lions tied the game with single runs over the next two innings. In the bottom of the second, Jesse Buratt led off with a double to left-center and moved to third on Brett Hoffman's ground out to short. Kevin Carr followed with a one out single, driving in Buratt.

In the third, Kiko Thompson led off the with a double down the right field line. Jacob Williams sacrificed him to third and Thompson scored on Jacob Seward's chopper over the head of the first baseman.

This time Southeastern answered by chasing GWU starter, and losing pitcher, Jacob Williams (0-1) from the game with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Southeastern added four more runs in the seventh with the big play being a two-run, infield single by Kiko Thompson. With two outs, Thompson hit a grounder deep in the hole at short. The throw by Mahala wasn't in time at first to get Thompson. Pinch hitter Webb Bobo scored from third and Kyle Cedotal scored all the way from second.
