GREENSBORO, N.C. – The chase for championship-level marks came to an end Saturday for the nine Southeastern Louisiana track & field athletes competing in the NCAA Track & Field East Preliminary Rounds.
None of the nine qualified to move on to the 2013 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 5-8.
“We're all a little bit disappointed, however most of our athletes improved upon their position or were about the same,” coach
Sean Brady said. “The good news is seven of the nine will return with the experience of competing in this meet.”
Thursday,
Alicia Noel completed the women's 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.08, finishing 37th.
Jeffrey Milliron turned in the highest Southeastern finish of the day, 22nd, in the men's discus throw with a mark of 169 feet, 3 inches.
Phillippe Moore finished 36th in the men's long jump (22-07.25).
Friday, javelin throwers
Derek Hampton (214-06) and
Casey Revere (203-05) finished 20th and 31st, respectively, in the men's event.
Brittany Pfantz (12-07.50) finished 26th in the women's pole vault.
Saturday, Lady Lion javelin throwers
Misha Frazier (140-11) and
Jenna Baker (140-03) finished 31st and 35th respectively.
Jonathan Kinchen (189-08) finished 23rd in the men's hammer throw.
