HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will hit the road for three Southland Conference matches over the next four days.
Southeastern (8-7, 1-5 Southland) has not played since a 5-1 loss versus Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on March 26. The Lions end their layoff on Friday, facing UT Arlington (10-7, 6-2 Southland) at 11 a.m. On Saturday, Southeastern will be in San Marcos, Texas to face Texas State (11-4, 6-1 Southland) in a 12 p.m. match. Southeastern will take Easter Sunday off before facing UTSA at 1 p.m. on Monday.
Senior
Morgane Dadot is one of two Lions with winning singles marks. The Reunion, France native boasts a team-best 8-6 singles mark this spring.
Junior
Isabel Brito (7-6) also has a winning singles mark and is one of four Lions with seven singles wins this spring, along with freshman
Adriana Castillo (7-8), senior
Audrey Chelini (7-8) and sophomore
Laura Verges (7-7). Freshmen
Morgane Charpenne (5-7) and
Marion Courbis (3-4) have also seen action in singles play for Southeastern.
In doubles play, Chelini and Courbis have teamed for a team-best 8-3 record. Castillo and Verges are 7-3 as a pairing, while Castillo and Brito are 3-1 as a duo.
UT Arlington is led by freshman Verena Scott, who has a 12-5 singles record. Scott and freshman Christine Foote have teamed for a 9-5 doubles record.
Texas State's top two players in the singles draw – sophomore Jessica Kahts (12-3) and junior Melissa Hadad (11-3) – have the team's top singles records. In doubles play, freshman Rachel Baldree and junior Mariana Perez have combined for a 12-1 record.
Sophomore Isabelle Jonsson and freshman Irene Gonzalez lead UTSA with matching 9-7 singles records. Jonsson and senior Stefanie Peana lead the Roadrunners with an 8-7 doubles mark.
Following the three Southland Conference matches, the Lady Lions will close out their road trip on Tuesday, facing Prairie View at 1 p.m. in Houston, Texas for a non-conference match.
