HAMMOND, La. – Paige Duncan,
Taisia Bolsova and
Aitana Darder represented the Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team on the 2026 All-Southland Conference Women's Tennis teams, announced by the league office Friday.
Duncan was named the Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year, while Bolsova and Darder earned a second team selection at the No. 2 doubles position.
Duncan, a Denham Springs, La. native in her first season in Hammond out of UL Lafayette, finished the regular season with a 15-4 singles record, including a team-best 7-2 mark on the No. 5 singles court.
Duncan also paired with
Bente Bierma for a 9-7 overall record on the feature doubles court. The pair earned four of their wins in Southland Conference play. Duncan is just the second Lion to be named SLC Newcomer of the Year, joining Valya Rusakova, who claimed the honor in 2013.
Darder and Bolsova, both natives of Spain, led Southeastern in doubles play with a 12-8 overall record on the No. 2 court. The pair finished the spring with a 5-3 mark in conference matches.
UIW's Estefania Gonzalez was named Player of the Year, while NSU's Martina Acebedo Bonocore was selected the SLC Freshman of the Year. Sonia Carlson was tabbed Coach of the Year after leading McNeese to the regular season championship. The All-Southland Conference teams and individual superlative winners were selected by the league's head coaches and media relations contacts.
Southeastern (14-8) will be the No. 6 seed in the Southland Conference Championships, scheduled for Sunday through Tuesday in Beaumont, Texas. The Lions will face third-seeded Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the first round Sunday at 10 a.m.
