Mitchell Pitts tossed a complete-game three-hitter while Casey Kalenkosky went 3-for-4 at the plate with his league-leading 13th home run of the season to lift Texas State to a 4-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana in a Southland Conference game Saturday at Bobcat Ballpark.

The series concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. The game can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9) and on the internet at www.LionSports.net. Pitts (4-0) allowed first-inning singles to Brock Hebert and Justin Boudreaux before issuing a fourth-inning single to Jeff Harkensee. The right-hander did not allow a runner past first base until pinch-hitter Joe Sparacino advanced to second on a wild pitch after leading off the inning with a walk.

Texas State (22-12, 12-5 SLC) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Kyle Kubitza tripled to right-center field and scored on Andrew Stumph's sacrifice fly. Kalenkosky, who later added a single and double, led off the second inning with a home run to left off Southeastern starter Tyler Watkins (6-1).

Stumph added an RBI single in the fifth inning to drive in Bret Atwood before Kalenkosky scored in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Isaac Nuti.

Watkins tossed his third complete game of the season for Southeastern, allowing eight hits with two strikeouts and a pair of walks. The senior right-hander retired the final seven batters he faced after Joey Fuda's two-out double in the sixth inning.
