NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Stephen F. Austin in Southland Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Schilef Tennis Complex.
Southeastern (12-7, 3-5 SLC) dropped the doubles point and then were swept in singles play. The host Lumberjacks improved to 12-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
SFA took the early lead in doubles play. The Lumberjacks earned 6-1 wins on courts 1 and 3 to claim a 1-0 advantage.
In singles play, SLU's
Aitana Darder pushed Antonella Taco to three sets on court 4, before ultimately falling, 7-5, 2-6, 10-7. SFA won in straight sets on the other singles courts.
The Lions will return to action Monday, facing SLC foe Northwestern State at 11 a.m. in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
