HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University juniors
Putri Insani and
Flory Bierma continued their winning ways on the No. 1 doubles court, but the Lions closed out its pre-Southland Conference schedule with a 4-0 loss to LSU Alexandria Sunday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
Southeastern fell to 1-10 overall with the loss. The visiting Generals (8-0) remained undefeated this spring.
Bierma and Insani won their fourth consecutive match as a duo, improving to 5-1 this spring with a 6-0 victory over
Annemart Kleijn and Olivia Scattini. However, LSUA won on the No. 2 and 3 doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead.
Insani, Bierma and
Polina Paunova were all leading on the top three singles courts when the match was decided. LSU Alexandria claimed the victory with wins on the No. 4,5 and 6 courts.
SLU will open Southland Conference play next Saturday with an 11 a.m. match versus Northwestern State at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
