HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will take part in its final pre-Southland Conference tune-up on Sunday, facing Wyoming at 1 p.m. at the FitLife SportsPlex in McComb, Mississippi.
Southeastern (4-2) just had its four-match winning streak snapped on Thursday, as UL Lafayette edged the Lions, 4-3. Wyoming (4-1) has wins over Montana State (twice), Louisiana Tech and Seattle, while its lone loss was to Tulsa.
A pair of freshmen –
Kim Bohlen and
Teodora Mitrovic – share the team lead with matching 4-0 singles records.
Putri Insani (4-1),
Katya Cornejo (2-0),
Flory Bierma (2-2) and
Polina Sleptsova (2-2) also have multiple singles victories this spring.
In doubles play, Bohlen and Bierma are a perfect 5-0 on the season. Insani and
Ximena Yanez have also a 5-1 mark on the No. 1 doubles court.
Ida Krause and Maria Oreshkina lead Wyoming in singles play, as both carry 4-1 marks into Sunday's match. Krause and Mihaela Kaftanova have teamed for a team-best 4-1 dual-match doubles mark.
