HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team returns to action on Thursday, hosting UL Lafayette for a 4 p.m. nonconference match at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The Lions (4-1) carry a four-match win streak into Thursday's match, which is a makeup from a rainout earlier this month. The Ragin' Cajuns (6-0) will be playing away from home for the first time this spring.
Southeastern has a 17-4 record in singles play this spring.
Putri Insani leads the team with a 4-0 record on the No. 1 court, while freshmen
Kim Bohlen and
Teodora Mitrovic each have 3-0 marks this spring.
Flory Bierma (2-1),
Katya Cornejo (2-0) and
Polina Sleptsova (2-1) each also have multiple singles victories.
In doubles play, SLU has a 10-4 mark as a team. Bierma and Bohlen are unbeaten at 4-0 as a duo, while Insani and
Ximena Yanez have combined for a 4-1 mark on the feature doubles court.
UL Lafayette has yet to lose this spring. The Ragin' Cajuns have wins over UIW, Northwestern State, Southern, Prairie View (twice) and Grambling to their credit.
