Three straight in the UC for Lady Lions starts Saturday at 1 p.m.

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will open a three-game home stand on Saturday, welcoming Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a 1 p.m. Southland Conference contest in the University Center.
 
The contest between the Lady Lions (4-8, 1-2 Southland) and the visiting Islanders (9-4, 3-0 Southland) will be broadcast live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the TuneIn Radio and Lions Gameday Experience apps.
 
The Southeastern Sports Network will offer a free video stream of the SLU-AMCC contest. Tune in online at www.LionSports.net or the Lions Game Day Experience app for Android or iOS devices. Fans can also watch on Southeastern's YouTube channel (/SLUathletics) with any mobile, tablet or smart TV device (e.g., Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Android TV and Roku).
 
Morgan Carrier is Saturday's Spotlight Player of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring the New Iberia, Louisiana native courtesy of PRIDE.
 
The Lady Lions will be looking to bounce back from a 77-51 loss at Stephen F. Austin on Thursday. SFA held an eight-point lead after a competitive first half, but broke the game open by outscoring SLU, 43-25, in the second half.
 
Alexius Horne led Southeastern with 17 points and three steals versus the Lumberjacks. She was joined in double figures by Jyar Francis (13 points) and Celica Sterling (10 points). Sterling (14.0 ppg), Francis (11.1 ppg) and Horne (8.6 ppg) are the top scorers on the season for SLU.
 
Tyler Morrison led SLU with four assists in Nacogdoches, while Sterling and Horne dished out three each. Horne's 3.1 assists per contest pace the Lady Lions.
 
SFA outrebounded Southeastern, 42-24, on Thursday. Caitlyn Williams leads the team with 5.8 boards per contest and the Lady Lions enter Saturday's game with a minus-5.0 rebounding margin.
 
Opponents are averaging 68.3 points and committing 18.2 turnovers per game versus SLU. Horne tops the squad with 2.1 steals per game.
 
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi comes into Hammond undefeated in league play. The Islanders have wins over Nicholls (55-49, Dec. 18), Central Arkansas (67-47, Dec. 21) and Northwestern State (72-59, Jan. 2).
 
The trio of Dalesia Booth, Alexes Bryant and Emma Young lead the Islanders. Booth (12.2 ppg) and Bryant (12.1 ppg) are the team's top scorers, while Bryant (6.8 rpg) and Young (6.2 rpg) are the team's most prolific rebounders.
 
On defense, Booth and Bryant share team-high honors with 18 blocked shots each. Booth also has a team-high 18 steals.
 
Southeastern is 6-10 all-time versus Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Last season in Hammond, Sterling and then-senior Jaclyn Scholvin scored 18 points apiece to fuel a 56-45 Lady Lion victory.
