Southeastern Signs Three to 2026-27 Roster

SLU finalized its signing class for the upcoming season

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team is adding Micah Cooper, Susan Fahnbulleh, and Yolaine Luthi to its 2026-27 roster, SLU head coach Jeff Dow announced, Thursday.

Dow spoke about SLU's newest Lions, saying, "In all likelihood, the addition of Micah, Susan and, Yolaine will complete our recruiting class. Micah and Yolaine reinforce what was a point of emphasis for this class, adding length and athleticism to our roster," Dow added.

Southeastern's 2026-27 recruiting class features the addition of size, with Dow stating, "Eight of our nine signees are between 5'11" and 6'2", which was by design. We envision being versatile on the defensive end with how we want to play, and offensively having the ability to score in the paint to complement our 3-point shooting."

Cooper kicked off SLU's latest series of roster additions. The 5-11 guard from Carrollton, Texas, arrives from Bradley University of the Missouri Valley Conference. Cooper also adds to the Lions' ability to play at multiple positions, with Dow saying, "Micah will provide us with versatility on both ends of the floor with her ability to play anywhere from the 2 to the 4.

"We envision being able to utilize her in a variety of ways offensively, from playing as a wing to being a power forward with the ability to play facing the basket," Dow said about Cooper.

As a sophomore in 2025-26, Cooper played in 23 games for the Braves, posting a season-high of 15 points against Northern Iowa. Against the Panthers, Cooper went 6-for-11 from the floor and made 3-of-3 from beyond the arc, while also collecting seven rebounds in the 22-point victory. Dow also mentioned the Carrollton, Texas native's collegiate experience, saying, "And with two years of Division 1 basketball under belt, she is arriving with a lot of experience."

The Hebron High School product was a top-rated recruit from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. After returning from a season-ending injury as a high school junior, Cooper averaged 13.3 points per contest in her senior season, bringing the Hawks to the Regional Semifinal of the UIL Class 6A Playoffs.

Susan Fahnbulleh arrives in Hammond, America, after averaging double-figure scoring last season. The Grayson College Viking played in all 32 games as a sophomore, leading the team to a 27-5 overall record. "Susan is a dynamic combo guard with a lot of experience playing for one of the top junior college programs in the country the past two seasons under the direction of head coach Steve Lowe," Dow said.

Fahnbulleh was also a consistent producer on the offensive end, recording 16 games of double-digit scoring. Dow talked about Fahnbulleh's offensive ability, noting, "She was able to provide a lot of offense as evidenced by how efficient she was from behind the arc and at the free throw line."

The Perth, Australia native made strides in her sophomore season, helping the Vikings win 18 games of a 19-game stretch. During that span, Fahnbulleh posted a career-high 26 points in a win over No. 12 New Mexico Junior College. The junior also contributed on the defensive side of the floor, with Dow adding, "Plus we think Su has the quickness and competitiveness to be an outstanding defender on the perimeter."

Yolaine Luthi became SLU's newest addition to the frontcourt. The 5-11 forward from Madison, Kan., joins the Lions after a career year for Allen Community College. As a sophomore, Luthi was named an NJCAA All-American, earning Second Team honors.

"Yolaine is a long, athletic forward that we think will give us multiple options on the defensive end," Dow said. "She will be a great fit in our 1-3-1 zone and has the lateral quickness to defend on the perimeter in our man-to-man defense, plus protect the rim in whatever defense we're in."

With the Red Devils, the All-KJCCC First Team honoree appeared in 24 games, making 20 starts and averaging 9.2 points per contest. "Offensively, she's only scratched the surface on what she's capable of doing," Dow mentioned.

Dow also cited Luthi's experience as a multi-sport athlete at the collegiate level, "Yo is unique in that she has competed in three different sports in college. It's exciting to think of what she's capable of with her focus being strictly on basketball." The former volleyball opposite hitter Luthi also made an impact on the defensive side of the basketball floor, swiping 25 steals during the 2025-26 season.

Cooper, Fahnbulleh, and Luthi join an SLU team that returns redshirt senior Aliyah Collins, junior Eryn McKinzie, second-year Lions in Natalie Huff and Mia Ramos, in addition to Emma Lucio, who will compete for Southeastern after a redshirt season.

On Southeastern's nine newest Lions, Dow said, "This recruiting class is indicative of what will probably be the 'new normal' in that it is a combination of traditional high school recruits, and junior college, international and Division I transfers. We think we have strengthened each position group and brought in experienced players at the college level, while still having a young foundation in place to develop for years to come."
