HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will close out its three-game road swing on Saturday with a 1 p.m. Southland Conference matinee at Northwestern State.

The game between the Lady Lions (6-11, 3-5 Southland) and the host Lady Demons (5-12, 2-6 Southland) will be televised on ESPN3 and can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the TuneIn Radio and Lions Game Day Experience apps.

Southeastern snapped a three-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 74-67 victory at McNeese. Four Lady Lions scored in double figures to key SLU's first victory over the Cowgirls since the 2013-14 season.

In Wednesday's win, Celica Sterling led Southeastern with 18 points. Caitlyn Williams (16 points, 11 rebounds), Charliee Dugas (16 points, four assists) and Alexius Horne (15 points, four assists) were the other key contributors for the Lady Lions.

Sterling is sixth in the Southland with 13.5 points per game. Jyar Francis (11.1 ppg), Horne (10.5 ppg), Dugas (7.9 ppg) and Morgan Carrier (7.4 ppg) are the other top scorers for SLU.

Dugas comes into Saturday's game needing 51 points to become the 21st student-athlete in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Horne is also sixth in the Southland with 3.3 assists per contest.

Sterling does much of her damage from behind the arc and is ranked fifth in the league with 2.1 three-point field goals per contest. The Baton Rouge native is also eighth in school history with 101 threes in her season-plus as a Lady Lion.

SLU enters Saturday's contest with a minus-6.4 rebounding margin. Williams, who has two double-doubles to her credit this season, is 15th in the Southland with a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game. Williams is 49 rebounds shy of cracking the school's career top 15.

Opponents are averaging 67.2 points and 18.4 turnovers per game versus the Lady Lions. Horne is 10th on the conference leaderboard with 2.1 steals per contest. Williams (15, 10th) and Aminat Jubril (13, 14th) are among the league's blocked shot leaders.

Northwestern State is led by Kira Bonner, who paces the squad and is fifth in the Southland with 14.1 points per contest. Bonner also leads NSU with 31 three-point field goals, while Jocelyn Scott has a team-high 4.8 rebounds per game.

Northwestern State's Jasmyn Johnson is third in the league with a team-high 2.7 steals per game. All five of NSU's wins this season have come at home.

Northwestern State is 48-21 all-time versus the Lady Lions. NSU swept the season series in 2018-19, answering Southeastern winning both meetings between the in-state rivals in the 2017-18 campaign.
