Storr, Coleman Represent Lions at NCAA East Regional Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Donovan Storr (400m) and Gerald Coleman (400m hurdles) opened the weekend for the Southeastern Louisiana track team Thursday in the NCAA East Regional Prelims at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
 
Storr, an Andros, Bahamas native, ran a 47.52 in the 400m missing the finals. However, the Iowa Western Junior College transfer qualified for the regional running a personal best 46.74 in the 400m at the conference championships May 5. The second team All-Southland selection also qualified in the 200m running a 20.98 April 27 at the Southern Miss Open in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The junior will be back in action Friday at 6:55 p.m. in the 200m.
 
Coleman, a junior, ran a 53.75 but didn't advance in the 400m hurdles. Nonetheless, the New Orleans, Louisiana native, ran the fastest time in the Southland in the 400m hurdles when he ran product ran a personal best 51.94 at the Southeastern Strawberry Relays March 2.
 
Both Storr and Coleman will join the Lions in the 4X400 relay Saturday at 8:45 p.m. with teammates James Benson II and Tahrike Jones. The group qualified for the regional running a 3:08.16 March 30 at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida.
 
Thomas Nedow, a freshman, punched his ticket to the prelims in the discus after throwing 170-1 (51.85m) at the Florida Relays March 29 in Gainesville, Florida. The Brockville, Canada native, will compete Friday at 3 p.m.
 
Ashley Davis will also be in action in the women's shot put Saturday at 4:15 p.m. The junior advanced to regional after finishing runner-up in the Southland Conference Championships May 5 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Watson, Louisiana native, threw 52 feet, 6.75 inches (16.02m) to advance to Saturday's regional.
